Sunday before Lent
Jesus went up a mountain with 3 of his disciples and they were overcome.
“And Jesus was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became dazzling white. Suddenly there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him.” (Matthew 17:2-3)
A true mountain-top experience changes people. Mountains are where heaven and earth meet. It’s a place of transformation, but becomes apparent is not how amazing the mountain top is but what happens when we come down. How will we live differently after meeting God? How will we live transformed lives that reflect the light of Jesus to all we meet during Lent? Will we engage in the struggle? Will we let go and let God? And follow Jesus on the Way that leads to life?
