Epiphany 2
The words St Paul wrote to the church in Corinth could have been written to your local church:
“God is faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
At the start of this new year be curious. Consider what it means to be called by God. What might it mean to stay faithful to our faithful God?
This week is the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. It’s an opportunity to pray with Christians who might do things differently to us. And it’s also an opportunity to find common ground. To realise that we all believe and trust in the same Jesus, and that unites us. Remember, Jesus is Lord of each church and every church.
By doing things together and encouraging each other we are stronger and more confident in our calling as Christians and as a local church.
What might God be calling you to pray for this week? And for who? What can we humbly ask others to pray for us?
